When they founded BAHO GmbH in Deggendorf, Lower Bavaria in 1995 the managing directors Stefano dal Lago and Hans Holzfurtner had a clear idea about how to bundlethe know-how and experience which they had acquired in different apprenticeships, in the Timber Exporting and Timber Transport Brokerage business.
The company was internationally orientated from the very start and this aim has beencontinuously pursued. The client base and the impressive list of countries suppliedbear testimony to the successful achievement of this objective. In this way thecompany has become one of the leading timber merchants on the internationalstage. The location in Germany has in the meantime been strengthened by theaddition of several employees in other European countries. A measure whichensures quality assurance and the optimisation of processing.
What counts nowadays above all is speed and reliability and both thesequalities have been attested to the company by its clients with theresult that it has been able to grow unhindered from its inception.
BAHO intends to continue this trend.
The BAHO - Team
Our history:
1995: BAHO Holzhandels- und Transportvermittlungs GmbH founded in Deggendorf. Hans Holzfurtner
and Stefano dal Lago are first listed as the managing directors in the Commercial Register.
1996: Storage capacity for small amounts of timber and bottlenecks are made available at the Deggendorf
free port. The convenient location of the head office also in the Deggendorf free port ensures short
communication lines and rapid handling.
1997: The rapidly increasing volume of trade necessitates a significant expansion in the free port area.
The company erects its own timber loading terminal in order to store additional timber as well as
load it. Besides BAHO’s core business with partners in Italy, England and the Near East the company
pursues a consequent expansion into other European Union countries..
1998: BAHO delivers the first consignment of timber to South East Asia. The main customers here are in
the construction industry.
2000: Annual transshipment increases to around 200,000 m³.
2001: Start-up of sales in Spain
2002: Additional employees are hired for the Spanish market.
2003: The major part of German timber exports to Spain, are handled by BAHO.
2004: BAHO becomes largest German timber exporter in several Middle Eastern countries.
2007: Following the expansion of its activities, BAHO strengthens the teamwith new apprentices
2008: Despite the global economic crisis, BAHO keeps turnover at the level ofthe previous years.
2010: BAHO celebrates 15 years of success in timber trade and transport brokerage. In 2010, the
sales volume of timber used for production rose to 400,000 cubic metres per annum.
As a result BAHO became one of the leading timber agents and brokers in Germany.

2012: BAHO sells more than 5,000 40’feet containers of softwood per year to the Near and Middle
East countries.
2014: BAHO ist nun ENplus zertifizierter
